Any road towards success, whether you’re pursuing purposeful living or working on improving your everyday life in business, community-based work or becoming an overall positive person has never been easy or smooth sailing. I’ve often found myself stuck in a rut of trying to figure out what paths would best serve me and how well I could manage my time and energy in becoming more productive. Becoming more confident in your own abilities requires cultivating discipline as well as unlearning some false truths about yourself. How you handle yourself as person inevitably determines how people perceive you.
Fear
Fear inevitably has been the downfall of most people who chose to believe the lie that they COULDN’T BECOME. The lie that they couldn’t become more successful, confident or equipped in breaking all generational trauma. Fear cripples us out of opportunity and progressive living. This will somewhat be a hard pill to swallow but history continues to highlight how important it is to take action when pursuing our dreams and you can only ever conquer fear by facing it. Life comes at us hard sometimes but the only thing you can do for yourself is to DOand BECOME something better for yourself. It’s better to be a failing fool than a fearful fool that never bothered to start in the first place. The guilt that comes with watching other people do what you wished you could do and seeing them doing it better than you could have ever thought yourself is nerve wrecking. In situations like this it’s easy to allow feelings like jealousy and anger to crop in and steal any remaining joy in us. This is one way we end up becoming bitter humans who cannot even clap for other people’s accomplishments. Stop being fearful! Don’t spend time micromanaging the world. Get up, go out and DO IT! We can’t all have control over every single aspect of our lives. Even if you tried, God will always have the final say in your life (Psalm 16:9). Become consistent with affirming God’s promises and truth in your life and cultivate the courage to explore the treasure chest of dreams He has hidden inside of you.
Teamwork makes the dream work.
Sometimes an adversary can take you further than an ally. God places people (the good and the bad) for a reason and season. For any team of different personalities to thrive or for any family to become more intentional in loving each other responsibly, it’s essential to not only be patient with one another, but it’s also important to appreciate the value that every individual can bring to the table. Growth doesn’t always come wrapped up in a pretty welcoming package. So maybe that co-worker who likes to rain on your parade every now and then is working something good for you by being a pain in your neck.Weird thought – I know. But it’s an essential thought to keep with you. Analyze what God is trying to show you in every situation/circumstance. Stop looking at everything from your perspective but rather look at everything from GOD’S PERSPECTIVE. Sometimes the bad serves to show us our own weaknesses. I can’t help but be thankful of every moment I couldn’t entertain certain people or thoughts because of anyhorrible thing they threw my way. Instead, I recognized my own pattern of bitterness and chose to deal with the bitterness that actually emerged in me during those circumstances. Why was I carrying all this negative energy towards these situations? Why was I even entertaining it? Do I really have to let the bad be the all-round deciding factor of my attitude in this life? Learn to be responsible for the good and bad!
“Just because God allows things that may not be good to us, doesn’t mean that it’s not good FOR US. A parent fails if the child never learns to fly.” – Kirk Franklin
Gratitude is the doorway to abundant living.
There’s nothing I desire more than to be in the company of merry people and I so desire to be a merry person myself. I’ve come to learn that a life lived through gratitude opens us up to abundant living. Being in a constant state where you are joyful for even the littlest of things, sets you up for a life filled with contentment. Gratitude helps us maintain a positive attitude towards life and attitude is literally the mirror of our deep seeded thoughts. Negativity only aims to destroy. Being grateful opens room for more blessings. Developing a spirit of giving also creates room to receive more (more promotion, more responsibility). So, make it a part of your lifestyle to be grateful in all things
Luke 16:10 – Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small matters will be dishonest in large ones.
Gratitude begins in the heart.
A merry heart is good medicine. You create atmospheres of change and inherently attract crowds that are on the same thought frequency as you are. How amazing it is to be a part of a body that is thriving and completely hell-bent on creating sustainable atmospheres that not only serve us but seek to serve others as well. That’s fulfilled community living
The man in the mirror – Be a Goal Assassin
Is there something you have been struggling to become consistent with? Eating healthy? Being more accountable with your feelings? Be honest with yourself about your struggles. Create hitlists of your fears or dreams. Write it down. Make it your goal to assassinate every fear that hinders you from becoming the best version of yourself. I used to struggle with breaking bad addictions (still do, it’s a process) but things changed for me the day I became serious with how God is in the business of breaking bondages. It’s never been my battle to fight alone. On my own, I’m powerless but with God, I BECOME powerful in my weakness.
Proverbs 4:23 – Be careful how you think. Your life is shaped by your thoughts
In everything may we get to a place where we aggressivelyguard our thoughts and mind (Ephesians 6:17) from the lies the world tries to feed u, give ourselves grace every day and trust the process. God has never failed and He doesn’t plan on starting with you.
